Sidecare Symposium describes themselves as a “mixed drink of many genres: cabaret, punk, glam rock, jazz, blues, rockabilly, folk, pop and polka-waltz party rock.” Another way of describing them would just be “a bucket full of fun.” Coming together in May 2012, this Vaudeville Band has entertained audiences in Knoxville but “we are starting to book out-of-town shows,” Singer Michelle Sanders said. “We played in Lexington a few months ago and will be in Asheville (NC) on Friday 13th.” Look for them to be in Nashville and Chattanooga in the next few weeks.
Kinky Clown,
Carnee Biscuitt, bends his clowning partner and partner-in-life,
Candi Sour, over backwards while wearing sensible shoes. This magical pair have been performing together for more than a year. “We have day jobs, of course, but we’re always playing around.” They perform as part of the
Vali Moon Events and Entertainment group.

Jinx Valentine takes a seat while the rest of the crowd stood up and came closer during what
Sidecar Symposium promised would be a performance art variety show set to live music with burlesque, comedy, dance, and a little danger. There was definitely a little danger.
The Sassy Lass with a Classy Ass,
Catalina Mystique, started her journey in Miami, Florida, travelled around the world a time or three and landed here in Knoxville six years ago to wow the
Scruffy City Hall audience with her boisterous bosoms.
The weather was bad and the level of creativity and excitement was high, so
Sidecar Symposium band members chose to hand-make CD covers for their 5-song EP release “On the Lam!” Singer Michelle Sander said “the first few were a lot of fun.” All told, the band created 100 limited-edition album covers for the release part at Scruffy City Hall Saturday, February 21st.
“The old notion of squeaky-clean clowns is dead,” Candi said. “Thinking outside the box gives us a lot more wiggle room in what we can clown.” The clown duo is looking forward to performing in a benefit show in April to help buy medical supplies for a local performer in need.
Part of a family of Downtown Knoxville businesses, including Preservation Pub, Knoxville Uncorked and Earth to Old City, the
Scruffy City Hall has big plans for the future. "We will be producing the most delicious, most daring, and largest variety of local beers on our custom brewery, located in the basement of
Scruffy City Hall. Our plan is to make an endless range of styles and special releases throughout the year. Beers consistently on tap will include a Kolsch, Stout, Amber, and American Pale Ale with rotating/evolving IPAs, Belgians, Saisons, Seasonals and whatever else we feel like brewing.” Learn more about their plans at
